PPD Series Portable Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers

Stock Code:

The Parker PPD Series Portable Desiccant Compressed Air Dryer is a complete compressed air treatment system designed to deliver high-quality dry compressed air in demanding industrial environments. Built for portability and performance, the PPD series integrates multi-stage filtration and a twin-tower adsorption dryer to effectively remove contaminants from compressed air systems.

Compressed air is produced directly on-site, meaning the responsibility for both air quality and operational efficiency lies with the end user. However, compressed air systems naturally suffer from contamination and reliability issues that can negatively impact equipment performance and product quality. The primary contaminants found in compressed air systems—particulates, water and oil—originate from atmospheric air, compressors, storage tanks and distribution pipework.

The PPD series addresses these challenges by combining advanced filtration with adsorption drying technology to remove contaminants and reduce moisture levels. Each unit includes multiple stages of filtration and a twin tower desiccant dryer, ensuring effective removal of oil aerosols, particulates and water vapour from compressed air systems.

Designed for mobility and industrial durability, the dryer is mounted on a heavy-duty portable skid with lifting lugs, fork pockets and a drag-ready frame, allowing the unit to be easily transported between job sites. This makes the PPD series ideal for temporary compressed air installations, maintenance operations, construction projects and remote industrial environments.

The system is engineered to provide compressed air that meets ISO 8573-1 Compressed Air Quality Standard, ensuring reliable air purity for sensitive equipment and processes.

For enhanced system control and monitoring, the PPD series includes an Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC) housed within a NEMA 4X enclosure, providing robust control capabilities. Optional advanced PLC configurations include dew point monitoring, digital display and communication via Modbus RS485 and Ethernet, enabling remote monitoring and system integration.

The PPD dryer offers flexible operation through selectable drying cycles, delivering a continuous -40°F (-40°C) pressure dew point in standard operation, with the option to achieve dew points as low as -100°F (-73°C) in short-cycle mode. Additional options such as integrated air-cooled aftercoolers and high-pressure configurations up to 350 psig allow the system to be tailored to specific industrial requirements.
